We work on old Triumphs. Mostly.

Our specialty is 1960s and ’70s Triumph twins. We have had these engines apart and back together more times than we can count, and we know them about as well as anyone you’ll find.

What we love most is the complicated stuff — the bikes that have been through two other shops, the leak nobody can find, the running issue that doesn’t add up. That is where we do our best work.

The shop — Costa Mesa
What we do

From oil changes to full engine builds.

There’s no job too small or too involved, as long as the bike belongs on our bench. Here’s what we do most weeks.

  • 01

    Full engine rebuilds

Bottom ends, top ends, ground-up builds. Balanced, blueprinted, and documented so you know exactly what's in your motor.

  • 02

    Complicated diagnosis

Bikes that have stumped other shops. Mystery leaks. Charging issues. Vibration nobody can pin down. Bring us the hard ones.

  • 03

    Restoration

Frame-up rebuilds and sympathetic refreshes. We'll work with you to figure out the right balance of original and ridable for the bike you actually want.

  • 04

    Routine service

Oil changes, valve adjustments, carb syncs, brake jobs, fork seals. The unglamorous work that keeps a vintage bike on the road.

  • 05

    Electrical

Points to electronic ignition, dynamo to alternator, 6V to 12V conversions, charging systems sorted from the ground up.

  • 06

    Other British bikes

Triumph is home base, but we have time on most British twins and singles of the era. Ask us about your bike. We'll tell you honestly if we're the right shop.

An engine going back together — bench notes, parts laid out, everything double-checked.
The honest part

What we’re not the right shop for.

We charge the same shop rate whether we’re balancing an engine or changing a tire. That’s what the demand for our work requires, and it means certain jobs are not the best use of your money in our hands.

We’d rather tell you that up front and point you toward someone who can do that work at a fair rate. We want vintage motorcycling to stay enjoyable and affordable, and that means being honest about what belongs on our bench and what doesn’t.

Worth doing elsewhere
  • Tire mounting and balancing
  • Basic chain and cable adjustments
  • Modern bike service
  • Paint and bodywork refinishing
Getting in

We’re generally backed up.

The caliber of work we do — and how few shops still do it well — means our bench stays full. If you want your bike with us, reach out as early as you can. We’ll be straight with you about timeline and what we can take on.

01
Reach out

Tell us about the bike, what it's doing or not doing, and what you're hoping for out of it. Photos help. So does any history you have on it.

02
Honest estimate

We'll give you a real read on scope, cost range, and how far out we are. No surprises later.

03
On the bench

When your bike comes in we walk through it together. Findings, questions, and decisions get documented as we go.

04
Back on the road

You get a bike that's been gone through properly, with notes on what was done and what to keep an eye on next.

The promise

A hundred old parts, all racing to break next.

These are vintage motorcycles. There are roughly a hundred parts in there all fighting to be the next thing to fail — fix one and the next in line gets its turn. We can’t promise we’ll catch every one of them every time. Nobody honest can.

What we can promise is this: if we missed something, or got something wrong, bring it back and tell us. We’ll do whatever’s in our power to make it right. Owning one of these bikes should be one of the best parts of your life, and we take that personally.

Other things we do

Beyond the wrench.

The shop comes with side benefits. If any of these are useful to you, get in touch — same email, same phone, same shop.

Common questions

Things people ask before they call.

  • Do you work on bikes other than vintage Triumph?

Triumph twins from the 60s and 70s are home base, but we have time on most British twins and singles of the era — BSA, Norton, the rest of the family. Ask us about your bike and we'll tell you honestly if we're the right shop.

  • What kinds of jobs aren't the right fit for your shop?

We charge the same shop rate for everything, which means tire mounting, basic chain and cable adjustments, modern bike service, and paint or bodywork refinishing aren't the best use of your money here. We'll point you toward someone who can do that work at a fair rate.

  • How do I get an estimate?

Send a note through the contact page — tell us about the bike, what it's doing, and what you're hoping for. Photos and any history help. We'll come back with a real read on scope, cost range, and how far out we are. No surprises later.

  • How far out are you for new work?

Generally backed up — the caliber of work we do and how few shops still do it well means the bench stays full. Reach out as early as you can, and we'll be straight with you about timeline and what we can take on.

  • Can you help me evaluate a bike before I buy it?

Yes. Send us the listing and the photos — Marketplace, Bring a Trailer, someone's garage, doesn't matter. We'll tell you what to look for, what's a cheap fix versus a five-figure problem, and what's a fair number for that bike in that condition.

We do. Period-correct Triumphs, set-ready and running — background bikes, hero bikes, race bikes. We'll deliver, wrangle on set, and get them home. Costa Mesa to LA covered.
