1973 Triumph TR5T

A 1973 Triumph TR5T (the U.S. market called it the Adventurer) that's been fully serviced and recently tested in the desert. Still impressively original — same paint, same factory feel. New key switch, and the aluminum gas tank is a worthwhile upgrade on these. 500cc parallel twin, light frame, the kind of bike that's easy to throw a leg over and ride somewhere unpaved.

Background
The TR5T was Triumph's last-gasp dual-sport, built during the BSA-Triumph merger years and sharing parts with both lineups. The U.S. called it the Adventurer; the U.K. called it the Trophy Trail. Either way it was meant to compete with the new Japanese off-road bikes. 500cc parallel twin, telescopic forks, dual rear shocks, and a frame light enough to actually take off-road. Triumph campaigned them in the International Six Days Trial and a private team won three gold medals on TR5Ts in '73.
